Pregnancy Diary 2: Week 18

Eighteen weeks the 3rd time around is definitely making me feel larger much sooner. Here I am at 20 weeks with Sam. That's not to say I'm claiming I am huge right now. I am officially back to my pre-pregnancy weight. My appetite hasn't grown, but my body just all of a sudden started gaining. It's a good thing.

I am definitely feeling baby move around (in fact he/she is moving around right now as I lay here writing). It makes it feel much more real. We have our ultrasound scheduled a couple weeks from now, and we are so anxious to find out the gender of this baby!

I got back to the gym today for the first time in over 12 weeks, and it felt sooooo good! I did better than I thought I would, and didn't get lightheaded at all. I'm taking it pretty easy for now; lots of low impact (so don't freak out mom). I did the recumbent bike, some stretching and yoga moves and free weights for arms and back.

Right now I am still hating tomato sauce and chicken/beef broth. Which I am very bummed about since I am a big believer that one of the most nutritious foods you can have is homemade broth. I would drink it plain right out of a mug before being pregnant, but I just can't handle it now. Hopefully I will get over that at some point. I am very glad I can at least enjoy eggs since they are also very nutrient dense. I have them scrambled at breakfast (or dinner), hard boiled at lunch and raw yolks in my smoothies.

Will is finally understanding...

that there is a baby in my belly. Sam still has no idea. He didn't seem to understand or care at first, but I bring the topic up often and now he seems to be getting excited about it. He even ran up to me the other day and touched by belly to see if the baby was moving. It was so random and very cute. Ask him if he wants a brother or a sister and he'll say sister everytime. I am excited for him to come to the ultrasound with us too!
