Boys in (Bow) Ties

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend. We sure did! Here is our attempt at a family picture. The sun was so bright, that this was the best we got!

Here we are Easter last year!

In Easters past, I haven't put much thought into what the boys wore. I usually just stuck them in pastel colors and called it a day, and was planning on just doing the same this year. I was given a hand me down suit that was perfect for Sam, but I had nothing for Will. After doing a little thrifting I found a perfect blue checkered shirt for Will for $3 bucks! They would have been cute enough with just that, but last minute (as in the Friday before Easter) I decided to make some ties for them. I had this tiny scrap of fabric leftover that was the perfect color. I am so glad I took the time to do it, they turned out so cute!

I was so surprised that Will actually LIKED his tie! When I got him dressed I was going to wait to put his tie on until we got to church, but he goes, "Wait mom! We forgot my tie!" He wore the thing all day!

After church, we spent the day at my parents with all my siblings and their spouses/fiance's/child. My Aunt and Uncle and cousin came over for dessert, and my cousin was so sweet and brought a whole bunch of eggs to hide for a egg hunt for the kids. This was Will's first time doing an egg hunt, and he loved it! Thanks Jill!

If anyone wants some jelly beans, we have enough to feed an army!

Baby Bum

Tell me, what's not to love about a cute little baby bum in a cloth diaper?

Oh right. I forgot about the part where you have to soak a dirty diaper in the toilet and use your hands to swirl it around to get off any extra remnants and then end up splashing yourself in the face with it. Yeah, no. I don't love that. But the adorableness makes up for it. I think.

We went bowling

Or as Will would say, we went "bowlings ball." It took us almost 3 weeks and about 5 times rescheduling, but we finally made it work. It was Will's first time bowling, and he took it all very seriously. I wish I had brought my video camera! He would stand there with a blank stare, just waiting. Then when it was his turn he would rush right up to grab his ball, wait for daddy to line him up and push!

Down it would roll, taking it's time.

And there he would wait, anxious to see what would happen.

If he got some pins down he would do a double fisted "yes!" If he missed he'd do an "aw shucks" motion, like this...

It was pretty much the cutest thing ever, but I'm partial. I also realized it is pretty much impossible to get a good/cool/hott looking picture of someone bowling. Take these for example...

 I know. Sexy.

It was a really fun time though. Some of my family and some friends were there too. I didn't do that well, but I didn't break any nails and I got better than a 39 (my record low) so I would call that a success!

As we were leaving my sister let Will play a snowmobile arcade game. The 3 minutes he got to play that pretty much topped the whole night of bowling as being the coolest thing ever.
