About To Get My Butt Kicked...

Kicked into shape, that is! Along with my stomach, thighs and the lovely post-pregnancy back fat. I got the go ahead from my midwife to start working out, if I wanted, and boy do I want to! In general, I am a pretty active person. I feel so blah when I am not able to workout. Between being sick the last couple weeks of being pregnant, and then having a baby....well, its been awhile.

My focus for now will not be weight loss. My body does still need to be makin' milk for this sweet baby of mine. If anything, I will have to eat more! It will be more getting back my strength and flexibility.

Sam is still a bit young to leave in childwatch at the YMCA (in my opinion, although he technically can now), so my workout of choice for now will be good ol' Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. I know I will not be able to do it 30 days straight, but my goal is to keep track of the 30 times I do it. 3 levels 10 times each.

Today was day 1. It went better then I thought it would, but I can tell am I going to feel it tomorrow! I sure wish I had the video camera out to tape Will working out with me. He was hysterical!

On another note: Sam had a bath today!

  1. Just be careful exercising. Don't overdo it, Stace. Your body goes through 9 months of transitioning itself. it doesn't bouce back into shape after 6 or 7 weeks. Your joints and ligaments and everything else takes a while to go back the way they were. You know that I'm speaking from experience, Stacey. I'm not trying to nag you or lecture you. Just don't be in such a hurry. Even if you waited til Sam was 3 months old, you still have months before summer is here to fit into a bathing suit. You already look like you can any way! And, personally, I HATE Jillian Michaels' video! I think it does more damage than good. It's way too intense. Especially for a new mom to be doing. Why not check out some lower impact exercise videos from the library. (Just a thought). anyway - Samuel looks absolutely adorable! I'm loving his chunky thighs! Sweet little baby boy. :)
